A Cody Trolley Christmas Light Tour is like Norman Rockwell on Wheels
More than 1,200 Cody residents make our Christmas Light Tours a holiday tradition
Friends gather on the trolley to see Cody's best lit neighborhoods and vote for "Trolley Riders Favorite" |
Christmas on the TrolleyCody, Wyoming boasts the largest lighted Christmas parade in all of Wyoming and its residential and commercial holiday decorations are right up there too. Starting two weeks before Christmas, Cody Trolley Tours provides 50-minute tours of the best-lit neighborhoods in Cody. Passengers get free hot chocolate, cider and/or cookies and sing Christmas carols as we view the lights. Passengers also get to vote for their favorite house. The house with the most votes gets the coveted "Trolley Rider's Favorite Award." The tours depart from the Albertson's Center parking lot and cost $7 per person. Tours are offered at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 pm. Most tours sell out so reservations are required. Tours for individuals and families are available on December 8 (after the Cody Christmas Parade) and then run every night between December 18 and December 23, 2007. Large groups can charter the entire trolley on December 8 or December 9. Cody Trolley Tours, Marge & Dick Wilder and The Top of the Hill Gang organize and sponsor Cody's annual holiday light decorating contest. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three winners in both the residential and commercial categories. Insider Tips: Dress warm! The trolley has heat but passengers' exhaled air has moisture that creates condensation which fogs up the windows. So we keep a few windows open to release that moisture. Some places in the trolley are chillier than others. If you want a warmer spot, try to board early and sit near an area with no open windows. Book your group early! If you want to reserve an entire trolley or a large number of seats for your Christmas party or corporate event make reservations at the beginning of December. The last tours of the season (December 23) fill up first and work backwards from there in availability. We don't offer tours on December 24 or 25. |
